Construction completed on the new embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Old Riga

The reconstruction and renovation of the new Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Riga, located in the historic centre of Old Riga, has been completed. It has been a real honour to contribute our professional expertise to the development of this significant diplomatic facility.

Originally constructed in the 1980s, the building has been transformed into a modern, open and welcoming embassy complex. It now accommodates the diplomatic mission, consular services, exhibition space, and the ambassador’s official residence. The building complies with the functional requirements of a diplomatic mission and meets contemporary standards in security, sustainability, and workplace environment.
Construction works were carried out over a period of 15 months, addressing the challenges associated with the historic urban fabric of Old Riga, including restricted site access and strict cultural heritage requirements. During implementation, modifications were introduced to the construction design, with particular attention given to the integration of dense and technically complex engineering systems typical of historic city centres.

The client for the project was the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia. Construction was executed by the general partnership AIDACO GROUP, comprising SIA Nordes Būve and SIA AIDACO Construction, which provided full-cycle construction management – from coordination of technical solutions to commissioning of the building.

The new embassy will serve as a contemporary diplomatic representation, strengthening cooperation between Latvia and Estonia, and providing a high-quality and representative environment for both staff and visitors.
