Construction of the new Salaca bridge continues under winter conditions

Even during the winter, construction of the new bridge over the River Salaca in Salacgrīva, Limbaži region, continues at an active pace. The project is progressing in accordance with the planned schedule, ensuring that work continues despite the challenging weather conditions.

At present, two of the three bridge piers have been concreted into the riverbed, and the superstructure is being gradually lifted into position. The first lifting phase has been completed, and subsequent stages are proceeding as planned.

The new bridge represents a strategically important investment in infrastructure that will enhance traffic safety and regional mobility, while improving accessibility for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.

Construction works are ongoing with the objective of opening the bridge to traffic by the end of the year, delivering a high-quality and sustainable engineering solution that meets contemporary technical standards.

The bridge project was commissioned by Salacgrīva Council, and the design was developed by SIA Projekts 3.

Construction and construction supervision were commissioned by VAS Latvijas Valsts ceļi. The works are being carried out by the general partnership NB & Tilts, while construction supervision is provided by SIA Ceļuprojekts.
