We are pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to the renewal of Latvia's energy production capacity. During this construction season, reconstruction works are being carried out on Hydroelectric Unit No. 3 at the Pļaviņas Hydroelectric Power Plant – one of the most significant modernisation projects in the Baltic hydropower sector. In terms of capacity, Pļaviņas HPP is the largest hydroelectric power plant in the Baltics and the second-largest in Europe, and its safe, efficient and sustainable operation is essential for the stability of the national electricity system. The aim of the hydroelectric unit reconstruction is to improve the technical condition of the equipment, increase operational safety and ensure the long-term sustainable operation of the plant. The client for the project is Latvenergo AS. Particular attention is being paid to compliance with environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and industrial safety requirements, taking into account the strategic importance and complex technical environment of the facility. The construction works are being carried out by a highly qualified engineering team, led by SIA Nordes Būve, in cooperation with SIA PRO DEV and SIA Energoremonts Rīga. The project ensures precise coordination of work, high quality of execution, and compliance with the technical and safety standards set by the customer. The reconstruction of hydroelectric unit No. 3 at the Pļaviņas HPP is a significant step in the modernisation of Latvia's energy infrastructure, promoting safe, efficient and environmentally friendly electricity production.
